Our pastry chef takes pride in making everything from scratch for your special event. We take it very personally that you allow us to be a part of your special day! Whether it's a wedding, baby shower, bridal shower, or birthday; we will work with you to create a dessert to be the crowning touch to your party.

Frequently Asked Questions-
What is a Custom Bakery?
Being a custom bakery simply means that every item made is made specifically for the person receiving it. It doesn't mean that we only do fancy expensive cakes, it just means that we are a custom order and appointment only bakery.
Is there a minimum order requirement?
We are currently only accepting cake and cupcake orders over $100. If you just want a dozen truffles or a dessert for a dinner party we still may be able to accommodate those requests, check with us for availability.
Do you offer cake tastings?
Here at Lake Union Cafe & Custom Bakery we do large group tastings every few months. This gives you the opportunity to try every flavor that we have to offer. We take pride in having unique flavors and want to make sure everyone has the chance to try them. If you can't make it to a scheduled cake tasting, we recommend making an appointment for an individual cake tasting within 2 weeks from the group tasting to ensure quality samples. Call us to find out when our next one is!
Do you deliver outside of Seattle?
Yes, we will deliver all around the Puget Sound area, applicable delivery charges apply. We offer free delivery to our internal clients at Lake Union Cafe & The MV Skansonia Ferryboat.
Do you offer consultations?
Yes, consultations are the perfect opportunity to get to know you and your vision for your cake. It is helpful if you bring pictures of cakes you like, fabric/color swatches, invitations, and anything else you would like incorporated into your cake design.
I wanted a specific cake flavor, but don't see it on your menu, can you do it?
Yes! This is how a few of our flavors have come to be on our menu, like the Banana's Foster, Toasted Coconut, & Creme Brulee. Our pastry chef loves the opportunity to create new things!
How much notice do you need for a wedding cake order?
As we are a small bakery we appreciate as much advance notice as possible. We prefer to have all details finalized one month prior to your event date. For our internal clients the cake is added to your final bill. For outside clients we require a $150.00 deposit at the time the order is placed, and the remaining balance is due no later than 2 weeks prior to your event. That said, we will do our best to accommodate last minute orders, call for availability.
Can you accommodate special dietary requests?
We do have gluten free and vegan options available. There is an extra charge for gluten free cakes due to the special ingredients they require.
